Close to Thanksgiving

Approaching Thanksgiving it is good to think about all that we have to be thankful for.....and in spite of tough financial times this past year I can say God has been so good to me and my family. Advent is approaching, which is always a great time of reflection for me personally. Last year I published my little inspirational book called Advent Reflections. I gave out 56 copies, and was blown away by the very positive response I received. As I could not afford to republish it this year, I have decided to post it day by day here on my blog. I am sending postcards this week to lots of people giving out my blog address and hope many more will be able to follow my very personal advent journey with me. 

I wanted to also give an update on my recent job with the Fresh Market- I quit after a little over a week! Without going into details I realized it was not what I wanted to do at this time in my life. At 47 I figure whatever I pursue will be something I enjoy. I do have another part time job lined up with Dan's Camera taking photos of Santa with children and also one evening with pets at a local outdoor mall. I am excited about that because it has to do with what I do love- photography. Think I will be taking a few classes in that area over the winter while I continue to work on my more important part time job God has given me- my novel. I have written thus far about 13,000 words, with only approximately 50,000 to go. I have not set a deadline for myself, but hope to see a rough draft together by the middle of next year.

Each day I want to find more ways to be thankful and to express that in kindness to others. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and may God bless you with His goodness and mercy throughout the holiday season.
